Grisha Heyliger-Marten has been Sint Maarten's Minister of Tourism, Economic Affairs, Transport and Telecommunication (TEATT) since 3 May 2024. Before joining the cabinet she was a Member of Parliament and, from November 2021, President of Parliament.

President of Parliament

On 26 November 2021 Parliament elected her as its President, according to a Parliament release published by 721news. She had been the second vice-president, and the post had become vacant when Rolando Brison stepped down on 4 November 2021. The new presidium was made up of Heyliger-Marten as President, William Marlin as first vice-president and Sidharth Bijlani as second vice-president.

Minister of TEATT

She was sworn in as Minister of TEATT in Prime Minister Luc Mercelina's first cabinet on 3 May 2024, The Daily Herald reported, and the Government of Sint Maarten confirmed the swearing-in that day. She returned to the same post in the second Mercelina cabinet, sworn in on 26 November 2024, according to Dossier Koninkrijksrelaties and The Daily Herald.

What the role involves

The TEATT ministry covers tourism, the economy, transport and telecommunications, which together make up much of the island's economic life.
