Hector Saincilien Richardson: Junior Stars co-founder and Saint-Martin football captain

A profile of Hector Saincilien Richardson, co-founder of the Junior Stars football club in 1965, former captain of the Saint-Martin selection and one of the first ten names on the Collectivité's sports Wall of Fame.

Hector Saincilien Richardson, a Saint-Martin football figure, co-founded the Junior Stars club in 1965 and captained the Saint-Martin selection. He was among the first ten people honoured on the Collectivité's sports Wall of Fame in 2021. The Collectivité's citation says he was born on Saint-Martin.

Football

The Collectivité's Wall of Fame citation and Le Pélican both describe him as a co-founder of Junior Stars in 1965, and Faxinfo reported that he spoke as one of the club's founders, with Antoine Baker, at its 60th anniversary in July 2025. Both the citation and Le Pélican say he captained the Saint-Martin selection; according to Le Pélican, he did so from 1973 to 1977 and won the Coupe territoriale in 1976. The same two sources say he co-founded the Saint-Martin veterans football club. More on the island's game is in SXM Daily's football section.

Business

According to Le Pélican's profile of his career, he began as a car mechanic at Ford and went on to found City Snack, Island Car Care Center, General Auto Parts and a vehicle-inspection centre in Saint-Martin.

Wall of Fame

In September 2021 the Collectivité unveiled its sports Wall of Fame at the Jean-Louis Vanterpool stadium in Marigot, with portraits of an initial ten figures from Saint-Martin sport. Richardson was one of them, The Daily Herald and Le97150 reported.
