The Let's ACT programme, which spent two years supporting nine local cultural organisations, closed with a final showcase at the Belair Community Center in Cay Hill on Thursday, 15 October 2026. More than 60 guests attended, SMN News reported.

The programme was run by the Sint Maarten Development Fund (SMDF) and the Foresee Foundation (4C), working with CEDE Aruba, and was funded by the Dutch Fonds voor Cultuurparticipatie, according to SXM Today.

Several projects reported their reach at the showcase:

  • NIA Total Theater trained 95 performers aged 6 to 80, and nine teenagers went on to become junior teachers.
  • A ceramics project between Milton Peters College and NIA involved 117 participants.
  • Tours of Culture trolley rides reached more than 100 people.
  • The Let's Talk Foundation's first event drew 200 people, and Hair Stories had 38 attendees.

The programme was meant to leave skills behind on the island rather than one-off events. "That capacity stays on the island," Jose Sommers said, as reported by Soualiga Newsday.

Some parts of the projects will be finished in the coming months, the organisers said.
