Isidore York, known as the Mighty Dow, is a St. Maarten kaisonian (calypsonian), steelpan player and arranger, best known for his 1986 hit "St. Maarten Rumba", his Road March titles of 1982 and 1983, and the steel orchestra he founded in 1991. His foundation says he was born and raised on St. Maarten and that his father, Chester York, was a pioneer of steel pan on the island.

Road March and "St. Maarten Rumba"
At Sint Maarten Carnival, Dow was Road March king in 1982, with "Forkin'", and in 1983, with "St. Maarten Jamboree", Caribbean Beat and House of Nehesi Publishers report. His best-known song is the 1986 hit "St. Maarten Rumba". In 1990 he was nominated for Billboard's Premio lo Nuestro a la Música Latina.
According to House of Nehesi, he performed "St. Maarten Rumba" for more than 100,000 people at the Festival de Música del Caribe in Cartagena, Colombia, in 1987, and he was St. Martin calypso king in 1995 and 2005.
In 2023 Dow won the Senior Calypso Monarch title, crowned early on 27 April 2023 with 508 points for "Questions" and "We Need More Wife", the Daily Herald reported; SMN News described him that May as "the newly crowned Calypso King".
Steel orchestra
In 1991 Dow founded the Ebony Steel Orchestra, and in 2004 it became Dow's Musical Foundation, whose band performs as the Ebony SXM Steel Orchestra. House of Nehesi wrote in 2005 that he had taught more than 100 students to play the steelpan, and that in 2004 the music hall at the John Larmonie Center for Creative Arts was named after him.
