Sylvie Feucher: préfète déléguée for Saint-Martin and Saint-Barthélemy, 2018–2020

Sylvie Feucher, a former senior police officer, represented the French State in Saint-Martin and Saint-Barthélemy as préfète déléguée from July 2018 until she was named préfète of Ariège in November 2020.

Sylvie Feucher was the préfète déléguée for Saint-Barthélemy and Saint-Martin, the French State's representative in the two collectivités, from July 2018 until late 2020. She came to the post from the Police nationale.

Appointment

A decree of 18 June 2018, published in the Journal officiel the next day, appointed her préfète déléguée to the State's representative in the collectivités of Saint-Barthélemy and Saint-Martin. The decree names her as Sylvie Danielo-Feucher and describes her as a commissaire divisionnaire of the Police nationale, and Soualiga Post reported the appointment the same day. Before that, according to a prefecture release quoted by Le Journal Toulousain, she had a police career and from 2013 served as préfète déléguée for equal opportunities in Val-d'Oise.

In the Îles du Nord

Feucher succeeded Anne Laubiès and took office on Monday 9 July 2018, Faxinfo reported. A delegation of signature to her dated 9 July 2018 appears in the prefecture's official records, and she was formally installed in Saint-Barthélemy on 10 July, according to the Journal de Saint-Barth.

When she left, the Journal de Saint-Barth wrote that her two and a half years in the Îles du Nord had been marked by "sa proximité avec la population" (her closeness to the population) and by handling numerous crises.

Ariège

At the Council of Ministers of 25 November 2020, the French government named her préfète of Ariège, according to vie-publique.fr and the Ministry of Overseas France. Serge Gouteyron, the sub-prefect of Aix-en-Provence, was named to succeed her in Saint-Martin and Saint-Barthélemy. Le Journal Toulousain reported that she would take up the Ariège post on 14 December 2020.
