Reported 26 April 2024.

The Collectivité de Saint-Martin's Executive Council approved on 26 April 2024 naming the athletics track at the Albéric Richards stadium the "Florencia HUNT" track, according to the council's decision. The name had been proposed by the sports commission on 12 March 2024.

Why the name

The Collectivité said the naming was meant to promote Hunt's career and her appearance at the Sydney 2000 Olympic Games, and to highlight women's sport. It came as part of its Terre de Jeux 2024 programme, a label linked to the Paris 2024 Games that the Collectivité obtained in July 2023.

Sydney 2000

Hunt ran for the Netherlands Antilles in the women's 800 metres in Sydney. She finished seventh in the first heat in 2:03.78, a national record, according to World Athletics and Olympedia.
