None of the four drinking-water samples taken on the French side in July and September 2026 contained E. coli, enterococci or coliform bacteria, according to health bulletins from the Agence régionale de santé (ARS) published by the Collectivité de Saint-Martin on October 23.
Below the reference value
Two samples met all standards and stayed below the chlorite reference value, according to the bulletins:
- Quartier d'Orléans, 135 rue Principale (July 3): chlorites at 0.184 mg/L
- Louis-Constant Fleming hospital (September 3): chlorites at 0.144 mg/L
Limits met, chlorites to be monitored
Two samples met the regulatory limits but went above a quality reference value for chlorites, according to the bulletins:
- Cul de Sac (September 3): 0.255 mg/L
- the ARS office kitchen tap at Hope Estate (September 3): 0.307 mg/L
For those two, the bulletins say the chlorite level is above a quality reference value and is "to be monitored".
Where to read them
Residents with questions about their tap water can consult the bulletins on the Collectivité's website.
