French side (Saint-Martin)

These are France's national emergency numbers, which also apply overseas. They are from Service-Public.fr, the French government's public information site, checked on 14 October 2026.

  • 17: police or gendarmerie (police secours).
  • 18: fire service (pompiers).
  • 112: the European emergency number, which puts you through to the right service.

Two local pages confirm this for Saint-Martin:

  • The Collectivité de Saint-Martin's fire-service page says to call 18, or 911 from a mobile phone. The page was last updated on 6 February 2024.

What we have not checked

This is not a full list of emergency contacts. SXM Daily has not checked these lines against official pages, so they are not listed here:

  • the coast guard
  • sea rescue

We also do not say whether a number from one side works on the other side. The only exception is the Collectivité's own note that 911 from a mobile reaches the fire service on the French side.
