The 11th Fête de la Mer sold 9,000 tickets over the weekend of 11 and 12 June 2022 on Grand-Case beach, Faxinfo reported on 17 June 2022.
The water-sports festival was organised by the Métimer association with the Saint-Martin Tourist Office, and returned after a two-year break, according to Faxinfo. Métimer coordinator Alexina Paya told the outlet the ticket sales worked out at about 1,000 activities a day.
In a preview on 9 June, Faxinfo listed the activities, from jet skis, towed buoys and catamaran rides to kayaks, paddleboards and small sailing boats, priced between €3 and €15. Mooring and navigation were banned in Grand-Case bay during the event, with the SNSM sea-rescue service watching over the water.
Faxinfo reported that Métimer planned to make a donation to the SNSM after the event.
