French-side taxis: stations, official fares and the Direction Transport
French-side taxis have no meter and follow an official euro scale. This guide links the Collectivité's fare guide and gives taxi station and Direction Transport contacts.
By SXM Daily ·
On the French side, the Collectivité de Saint-Martin regulates taxis and publishes the official fares. Taxis have no meter. Fares are set in euros on an official scale, and the Collectivité's downloadable guide gives the price for each trip by zone.

How fares work
According to the Collectivité:
- fares are set in euros according to an official scale
- prices can change with the time of day, with night and public-holiday rates
- prices can change with the number of passengers and bags
You can download the full fare guide, last updated on 6 February 2025, from the Collectivité's taxi fares page. Check your route there before you travel.
Taxi stations
To book a taxi or ask a question, call a taxi station between 7 AM and 7 PM:
- Marigot: 0590 77 87 62
- Grand Case: 0590 77 87 26
The regulator
The Collectivité's Direction Transport et Réglementations is at 162 A rue de Hollande, Marigot, 97150 Saint-Martin (0590 29 56 26). Contact it with questions or problems about French-side taxis. The Collectivité doesn't publish an online complaint form or the office's opening hours.
The Dutch side is different
Dutch-side taxis follow a separate system overseen by the Ministry of Tourism, Economic Affairs, Traffic and Telecommunication (TEATT). Don't expect French-side fares to apply on the Dutch side, or the reverse.
