Sint Maarten utility NV GEBE marked 65 years of providing electricity and water in October 2025, handing out commemorative items to customers at its offices.

NV GEBE, the utility that supplies electricity and water on Sint Maarten, marked 65 years of service in October 2025, according to a release the company published on 31 October.
To celebrate the milestone, GEBE said customers visiting its offices would receive commemorative items. In its release, the company framed the anniversary around its service to the people of Sint Maarten, highlighting dedication, resilience and pride as the themes of the occasion.
GEBE is the island's main provider of power and drinking water on the Dutch side, and its performance is closely followed by households and businesses. The 65-year mark puts GEBE among the longest-running public-service companies on the Dutch side. Its release looked back on that record rather than announcing new projects or changes to tariffs or service.
Customers who wanted one of the commemorative items were invited to visit a GEBE office, according to the company.
