The Government of Sint Maarten completed the contracted production phase of its public-records digitisation, with 315,206 archived records scanned, according to a government release of September 29, 2026. The Daily Herald also reported the milestone.

Who did the work

According to the release, the Civil Registry and the Department of Information Technology (DIV) did the work together with the Digital Leadership Team, and DIV handled quality control and acceptance. The contractor, Novian Technologies, handed the work over to DIV. Training for DIV staff at the Digitization Center was scheduled for September 28–30.

The release quoted Prime Minister Dr. Luc F.E. Mercelina, Head of ICT Femi Badejo and Stanley Mourillon.

Funding

The project is implemented by the National Recovery Program Bureau (NRPB) and funded by a US$12 million grant from the Sint Maarten Trust Fund, which is financed by the Netherlands and managed by the World Bank, the release says.

Next step

The next step, according to the government, is a Document Management System for government records.
