Saint-Martin's tourism office opened a new tourist information point and a local-products shop at Grand Case L'Espérance airport on Wednesday 31 January 2024, SoualigaPost reported.
According to SoualigaPost, everything on sale in the shop is made in Saint-Martin. The outlet said the range of products would change every three months, so returning travellers would find new items.
The information point gives arriving passengers a place to ask about things to do, places to stay and transport on the island as soon as they land. The shop, meanwhile, gives local makers a window on travellers passing through the French side's airport.
Grand Case is the French side's own airport, separate from Princess Juliana on the Dutch side, which makes a first point of contact at the airport useful for both the tourism office and local businesses.
SoualigaPost reported the opening on the same day, 31 January 2024, describing it as taking place that Wednesday morning.
