The Police Force of Sint Maarten (KPSM) urged residents, visitors and transport providers to be patient and plan ahead as the high season begins in the coming weeks, in a release carried by 721news.
Traffic
KPSM expects heavier traffic and slower travel, particularly in Philipsburg and Simpson Bay. Motorists are urged to leave early, and taxi and tour bus operators to allow for delays when scheduling pickups and transfers to the airport, cruise port and hotels.
Parking
Drivers should park only in designated areas, avoid double parking, and make pickups and drop-offs only where permitted and without blocking traffic.
Visitor safety
KPSM advised visitors to stay aware of their surroundings, keep valuables out of sight, not leave valuables in parked vehicles, use well-lit routes and arrange reliable transport.
