The 2026 season of the Mardis de Grand Case, the weekly Tuesday street festival in the north-coast village, was put on hold because of a funding shortfall, and came back in April once the Collectivité de Saint-Martin (COM) agreed a €55,000 grant.

According to Faxinfo, the event was suspended for lack of funding and resumed on Tuesday 7 April. The outlet noted that the COM had contributed €50,000 in 2024 and €64,000 in 2025, and that public support had covered up to 64% of the festival's budget.
Le Pélican reported that the organisers had asked for €100,000 and received close to €55,000. The paper said the sixth and final night of the shortened season took place on 21 April, with more than 95 stands. Faxinfo had earlier given 14 April as the closing date; Le Pélican explained that rain pushed one night back, moving the final evening to 21 April.
The Tuesday nights, with food stalls, crafts and music along Grand Case's main street, are one of the French side's best-known regular events for residents and visitors. The 2026 pause showed how much the season depends on public funding from the Collectivité.
