Melackia Spencer reached 15 years of service at the Sint Maarten Library on 3 October 2026, according to the Library, which marked the milestone in a release published by SMN on 15 October.
Over that time, the Library says, Spencer has helped carry out its mission of promoting literacy and building a love of reading among children and families.
One of her current roles is hosting "Raising Readers", the Library's online story time for children aged 0 to 5. The sessions take place every other Wednesday and are designed to introduce very young children to books and storytelling early in life.
Spencer also works as a Reading Consultant, the Library said. She is based mainly at the Circulation Desk and sometimes at the Information Desk, where she helps patrons find their way around the Library's services and resources.
The Sint Maarten Library Board and staff congratulated her on reaching 15 years and thanked her for her contribution to the Library and the wider community.
The Library describes its work as widening access to knowledge, strengthening literacy and encouraging lifelong learning as part of Sint Maarten's educational and cultural development.
For parents: families with children up to age 5 can follow the Library's Raising Readers online story time, held every other Wednesday.
