Reported 26 November 2024.

The members of Cabinet Mercelina II were appointed and sworn in by Governor Ajamu G. Baly on 26 November 2024, the Cabinet of the Governor said.

The coalition

The new government was formed by URSM, DP, PFP and SAM. On the official seat allocation from the 19 August 2024 snap election, those parties held three, three, two and one seats: nine of the 15 in Parliament.

A year of elections

In his speech, the Governor recalled that the previous government had been sworn in on 3 May 2024 and lost its majority on 20 May. That led to the August vote, the second election in a year. He told the new ministers the country needed "care" and listed public finances, the justice system, the environment, infrastructure, tourism, the cost of living and young people as areas needing attention.
