According to PJIAE, 2023 traffic reached 99.5% of the 2019 level and 81.2% of 2016. In the first quarter of 2024, traffic rose to 93% of 2016 and 130% of 2019, the company said.

North America leads

North America remained the airport's main market, accounting for about 58% of all passengers, PJIAE said.

Chief executive Brian Mingo and chief financial officer Bob Post said traffic had "rebounded remarkably" and was nearly back to pre-pandemic levels. They said they expected the momentum to continue in 2024, according to the release.

At the time, PJIAE said its new check-in and departure halls were in use, the new arrivals hall was almost finished, and it planned to celebrate the new terminal and the airport's 80th birthday in November 2024.
