KKO Beach Club's traditional women's charity racket tournament, the Tournoi des Raquettes Roses, returns on Saturday, October 31, on Orient Bay beach for Octobre Rose, according to Le Pélican and Soualiga Post. Past editions were beach tennis tournaments.

Who can play
The tournament is open to women players of all levels, according to Le Pélican. Entry is EUR 10.
For a cause
A raffle will raise funds for Fleur du Phoenix, an association that supports people with cancer and their carers on Saint-Martin. A breast cancer screening awareness stand will be on site all day, Le Pélican reports.

Where to get screened (French side)
Under France's national organised screening programme, women aged 50 to 74 with no symptoms and no particular risk factors are invited for a mammogram every two years, and the exam is fully covered, according to the Assurance Maladie (page updated May 2026). Since January 1, 2024, the invitations have come from the Assurance Maladie rather than the regional screening centre (CRCDC), the CRCDC says.
About 200 women a year are diagnosed with breast cancer in Guadeloupe, Saint-Martin and Saint-Barthélemy, and about fifty die of it, according to the CRCDC (2026).
