STAT put Sint Maarten's population at 42,449 on January 1, 2025
The Department of Statistics estimated Sint Maarten's population at 42,449 on January 1, 2025, up 183 on a year earlier, in a series rebased to the 2022 Census.

The Department of Statistics (STAT) estimated Sint Maarten's population at 42,449 on January 1, 2025, according to a government release of June 29, 2026. That was about 0.4% (183 people) more than the 42,266 a year earlier. The People's Tribune also reported the figures.
What drove the change
According to STAT, 2024 saw 339 births and 244 deaths, plus 1,022 immigrants and 934 emigrants.
A rebased series
STAT benchmarked the series to the 2022 Population and Housing Census count of 41,902, used as the January 1, 2023 estimate, and revised earlier years after Civil Registry revisions to vital statistics. Its rebased January 1 figures are:
- 2017: 39,176
- 2018: 39,560
- 2019: 40,141
- 2020: 41,021
- 2021: 41,541
- 2022: 41,717
- 2023: 41,902
- 2024: 42,266
- 2025: 42,449
Afterwards
STAT launched a new website and interactive dashboard on October 22, 2026, and the 2026 Labour Force Survey ran from July to September 2026.
