Dates can change, so check SMYC's Keelboat Season Championship page before each event.

Classes

The championship is open to boats with a valid CSA rating certificate and to two one-design classes:

  • CSA 1 Monohull: CSA rating 0.820 to 1.0
  • CSA 2 Monohull: CSA rating 0.700 to 0.819
  • CSA Multihull: any multihull over 20 feet that is not normally pulled up a beach by its crew
  • Diam 24: one design, with SMYC local safety adjustments
  • Jeanneau Sun Fast 20: one design, under SMYC local rules

The sailing committee decides which class a boat sails in at its first entry of the series, and each class needs at least two boats.

Entry and scoring

There is no separate championship fee: the entry fees paid for each event count as the championship entry. Registration takes place at SMYC on the Friday before each event, unless a boat has entered the whole series.

Low-point scoring applies, and a boat's season score is the total of its event scores. If all five events are completed, each boat's worst score is discarded. A boat that skips an event scores the number of registered entries plus one.
