The St. Maarten Tourism Bureau (STB) held an "Island Hopping" webinar with Copa Airlines on Wednesday 12 February 2025 that drew more than 300 travel agents and tour operators from Latin America, according to the Tourism Bureau.
St. Maarten welcomed 10,724 visitors from Latin America in 2024, the Tourism Bureau said, compared with more than 17,300 in 2015. It said it was working to rebuild its marketing presence in the region. Copa flies from Panama to St. Maarten on Sundays, Wednesdays and Fridays.
Day trips from a hub
The webinar featured the Office de Tourisme de Saint-Martin, the Saba Tourist Bureau, the Anguilla Tourist Board and Aqua Mania Adventures, according to the Tourism Bureau. Presenters showed how visitors can use St. Maarten as a base for day trips to Saba, Anguilla, St. Barths and Saint-Martin.
"It's incredible to see so much interest in what St. Maarten has to offer as a premier Caribbean destination," said Luis Hurtault, the bureau's marketing officer for Latin America, in the release.
