Reported 18 March 2024.
The University of St. Martin (USM) announced a new Associate of Science (A.S.) programme in Information Technology & Network in March 2024, according to the university.
USM said the programme would begin with the fall semester in August 2024. The announcement was published on the university's website on 18 March.
The new associate degree added a technology option to USM's local offer, giving students on Sint Maarten a way to train in information technology and networking without leaving the island. Associate programmes are typically shorter than a full bachelor's degree and aim to prepare students for work or for further study.
A local course allows employers to recruit trained staff on the island and lets students gain a qualification close to home.
USM is Sint Maarten's local university. The IT & Network programme joined its existing degree and continuing-education offer, and the university invited interested students to apply ahead of the August 2024 start.
