VROMI zoning plan tender: proposals due Friday, October 30

Proposals for the Ministry of VROMI's tender for a new zoning plan for Sint Maarten are due by Friday, October 30, 2026, according to a ministry release. SXM Today also reported the October 30 closing date.
Why a new plan
In the release, Minister Patrice Gumbs said the current zoning plans date from 2014 and are now 12 years old, while the law requires them to be reviewed every five years. He said a new plan would give clarity on land use, and referred to feedback on high-rise permits in Maho and Beacon Hill, on parcels zoned for it.
What comes next
The ministry says public hearings and town halls will follow once a consultant has been chosen.
