Wataki medical and rehabilitation clinic was inaugurated in Concordia in January 2026
The private Wataki clinic of the Manioukani group, offering specialist consultations, day hospital and in-patient rehabilitation, was inaugurated in Concordia on 29 January 2026, with €3 million in EU support.

The Wataki private medical and rehabilitation clinic, run by the Manioukani group, was inaugurated in Concordia on Thursday 29 January 2026, RCI reported. The clinic offers specialist consultations, a day hospital and full hospitalisation.
Funding
Préfet Cyrille Le Vély said work on the clinic had begun four years earlier and that the State had channelled €3 million in European regional development (FEDER) funds into the project, according to RCI.
Opening in stages
According to The Daily Herald, construction finished in 2025. The day hospital opened in late October 2025 for 25 to 30 patients a day, and in-patient care began on 10 December 2025. The clinic had about 20 staff, with a short-term goal of 60 and up to 100 jobs in the longer term. The newspaper said founder Dr Pierre Sainte-Luce, president of the Manioukani group, spoke at the ceremony alongside the Préfet and Collectivité President Louis Mussington.
